For owners and agencies

Shopify development for a store your staff can edit

hehe.software offers Shopify stores, theme customisation, migrations and fixes on the shop you already run. We work remotely from Vancouver with businesses and agencies across Canada and the United States, including on products we did not build. Email mwe@hehe.software or use the contact form with what you need; a defined sub-project, white-label or credited, is welcome.

Shopify development, properly.

Stores that load fast and take the money.

01

What we do on a Shopify store

We work in your Shopify admin. New stores get products, collections, pages, shipping, payments, markets, and an editable theme. Existing stores usually need one change: a template, the cart, a broken section, a migration, or a speed pass.

Theme work covers product and collection templates, reusable sections and the settings staff edit. Metafields and metaobjects can hold structured content. For custom rules, we first check supported apps and APIs: public apps containing Shopify Functions can support multiple plans, while custom apps containing Function APIs require Plus.

B2B company accounts and catalogues are available on several Shopify plans, with plan-specific limits. Checkout UI extensions also have different eligibility depending on the page and extension point. We compare your current plan with the actual wholesale and checkout tasks before recommending a change.

02

Typical jobs

A Shopify store setup is the domain, payments, shipping, locations, staff access, emails, and pages you still write. A custom Shopify theme, or a deep edit of one you licensed, covers product, collection, cart, search, and content templates, including filters and variants.

A Shopify migration from WooCommerce, WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, or a custom cart moves products, variants, customers, pages, blogs, and redirects. Order history goes only as far as Shopify allows. We tell you that limit up front.

Fixes on stores we did not build include a section that errors on one product, a promotion that never applies, inventory that drifts, and a market in the wrong currency. We read the theme and the apps before replacing them.

Canadian taxes in Shopify are configuration: GST, HST, and PST, product categories, and shipping tax, using registrations and rates from you or your accountant. US state tax is the same task. We enter the settings. We do not decide whether you must register, and we do not certify compliance.

For both countries we set markets and connect Shopify Payments, PayPal, or Shop Pay where the plan allows, plus email, reviews, subscriptions, shipping, or accounting.

03

How a project runs

Send the store URL if you have one, what you sell, the problem or the launch, and a real date if you have one.

Clear fixes are hourly. A new store, custom theme, or migration is a fixed quote after scoping. Open briefs start with paid discovery: templates, apps, a migration map, and a written scope you keep.

You own the store and add us as a collaborator. Keep the owner login. Theme code stays in a Git repo you keep. We build on an unpublished theme and hand over a short note. We take a small number of projects at a time, so you work with the people doing the work.

04

Theme, Liquid, and Shopify speed

Daily tools: Shopify admin, theme editor, Liquid, JSON templates, metafields, metaobjects, Shopify CLI, and Git. Headless Next.js, React, and TypeScript on the Storefront API is for jobs a theme cannot do.

The quote checks the current plan and API restrictions. Information, shipping and payment-step checkout UI extensions require Plus; other extension points and B2B features have different coverage. Functions also depend on app distribution: public apps can support several plans, while custom Function apps require Plus. We identify any plan change before committing.

Shopify speed work looks for app scripts on every page, oversized images, extra fonts, and Liquid that loops every product to draw one card.

05

Who it is for

Owners, marketers, and agency leads in Canada or the United States who want a Shopify developer for a named build, migration, or fix, including beside a developer you already have.

If the brief is still open, paid discovery can turn it into a defined feature list and acceptance checks. If you already have a developer or agency, we can take a bounded part of the work and agree how it joins the wider project. Share the target date so we can assess capacity and dependencies before committing.

06

What we can show you

Our owned work includes this website and nine App Store apps. Those products show design, implementation and maintenance, but they are not Shopify stores. A Shopify engagement includes evidence relevant to the job: an unpublished theme, agreed product and market checks, test orders and notes on custom code and apps. You can review that work before publishing.

Useful with the first email: Shopify plan, a product export, logo and type files, apps you pay for, registrar access, and which GST, HST, PST, or US registrations to enter. Collaborator access can wait.

Ways to work with us

Built by us

We don’t show client logos. We show what we build and run ourselves — nine apps on the App Store, and this site.

Questions

Can you fix a theme without replacing it?

Yes. We inspect the theme, apps and affected product or page before proposing a change. Work can stay in an unpublished theme so you can review it before release. Send the failing behaviour and any recent app or theme updates.

Do Shopify B2B features require Plus?

Shopify offers B2B features on several plans, with capabilities and limits that vary by plan. Checkout extensions also depend on where the extension appears. We check your current plan against the company accounts, catalogue and checkout behaviour you need before estimating the build.

Can you work with our current developer or agency?

Yes. Agencies send sub-projects, white-label or credited, and you can hire us for one piece beside your current developer. We join their repo if they want that. We agree who publishes the live theme before anyone edits.

Do you maintain a store after launch?

Yes. Hourly covers fixes and small jobs. A monthly retainer covers upkeep: theme and app trouble, small edits, and a speed check after a new app. We agree the scope first, including stores we did not build.

How do quotes work?

Pricing is quote-only. We send a fixed quote or an hourly estimate after scoping, and we do not publish prices or ranges. Paid discovery comes first when the brief is too open to price, and you keep the scope. Start at mwe@hehe.software or the contact form.

Tell us what needs doing.

A short email is enough: what you have, what’s wrong or missing, and when you need it. We reply with questions or a plan.
