For owners, marketers, and agencies

Web design for a new site, or a redesign of the one you have

hehe.software offers web design for a new website or a redesign, with Figma delivery or an agreed build through launch. We work remotely from Vancouver with businesses and agencies across Canada and the United States, including on products we did not build. Email mwe@hehe.software or use the contact form with what you need; a defined sub-project, white-label or credited, is welcome.

Web design, properly.

Websites and apps that look like someone cared.

01

What we design

We name the action first: write in, call, book, buy, or send a form. Only pages that serve it go on the list. A short site is home, one template shared by the services or products, about, and contact.

Custom website design means those templates are drawn for your content, not a demo theme with the logo swapped and the sample photos left in. On WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Squarespace, or Wix we still design the menu, the first screen, an inner page, the form, and the footer. Copy about what you sell comes from you. A template waiting on it does not launch.

02

Typical jobs

A new site has usually outgrown a single page, a PDF, or a social profile. We set type, palette, menu, buttons, and the form's success and failure text.

Familiar faults on a redesign: a first screen that never says what the company does, a menu of every old page, type too small on a phone, and six form fields when two would do. URLs that bring visitors stay. A changed URL includes a redirect.

Another developer gets named components and type styles, not a flat picture of the homepage. Responsive design is drawn at phone and desktop width, and at tablet width only if the layout changes. Small business web design is the short version: few templates, one next step, and an editor staff can use without us.

03

How a project runs

Send the URL if you have one, who the site is for, a rough page list, and a real date.

One page is estimated in hours. A whole site is a fixed quote once the pages are known. If they are not, paid discovery writes the sitemap, the job of each page, and the missing copy and photos. You can stop after that, and you keep the document.

You review home and one inner page, phone and desktop, before the rest. The quote states the review rounds. Few projects are open, so you write to the website designer doing the work. A build goes public when you say so, and you keep the file, the accounts, and a note on safe edits.

04

Figma, or straight into the build

A separate design is a Figma file of components, text styles, and pages. The menu and the form are clickable when that is how they should be judged.

WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, WooCommerce, Squarespace, and Wix are the usual build, because staff have to edit later. Next.js, React, and TypeScript are for a signed-in area, a layout those editors will not hold, or an integration that should not be several plugins.

Use Figma when others must approve, when another developer will build, or when the page list is still moving. Go straight into the build when the structure is already agreed. The scope names which. Contrast, focus, labels, and type that can be enlarged are in the file, and photos are cropped to their slot. We implement a WCAG target on the technical side. We do not certify compliance.

05

Who it is for

Owners and marketers in Canada or the United States who can name the offer and the next step. Agencies that want a web design company for a sub-project, white-label or credited, or for files their developers will build. We can also design beside a developer you already have, or quote a finished file as a build.

If the brief is still open, paid discovery can turn it into a defined feature list and acceptance checks. If you already have a developer or agency, we can take a bounded part of the work and agree how it joins the wider project. Share the target date so we can assess capacity and dependencies before committing.

06

What we can show, and what to send

This website is our own design and build. Tifo, Broski and our other App Store products show interfaces we continue to maintain after release. They are owned work. For your website, we review designs using real copy, realistic images and the intended visitor action, then check the agreed phone and desktop layouts before handing them to a developer or continuing the build.

Send the URL, a page list, logos, photos you may use, and the action you want. Logins can wait. Name any URLs a redesign must keep.

Ways to work with us

Built by us

We don’t show client logos. We show what we build and run ourselves — nine apps on the App Store, and this site.

Questions

Can the design stop at files for our developer?

Yes. We can deliver the agreed page designs, components, responsive rules and interaction notes in Figma. Include your developer’s platform constraints in the brief. Building and launching the site can be a separate scope or part of the same project.

What do you need before designing the first page?

Your offer, intended audience, main action and whatever content already exists. A rough page list and examples you like are useful, but a finished specification is optional. If those choices need work, paid discovery can turn them into an outline you can review.

Can you work with our developer or agency?

Yes. An agency can send a white-label or credited sub-project, and you can hire the design while another developer builds. We agree who publishes so two drafts do not collide. Fixes on work we did not make, and hourly questions during a build, are both ordinary.

Do you maintain the site after handoff?

Yes, when you want that. Hours cover a new page from the components you have, a form change, or a phone layout fault. A monthly retainer covers ongoing edits, including sites we did not design, once the covered work is written down.

How do quotes work?

There is no public rate card. We scope the job and send a fixed quote or an hourly estimate, and we do not publish prices or ranges. If the pages are too open to price, paid discovery is a smaller first job, and you keep that scope if you stop. Start with mwe@hehe.software or the contact form.

Tell us what needs doing.

A short email is enough: what you have, what’s wrong or missing, and when you need it. We reply with questions or a plan.
